March 2010 update for Nolan
Great News Everyone!!!!!!!
All of our prayers were answered... Nolan is cancer free and in remission, according to his oncologist after viewing the most recent MRI. We couldnt be happier to share this news with all of you. Each day Nolan gains strength and new insights to the world around him. He has become curious and outgoing now that his environment is safe and most of all routine. He is gaining weight and the color is back in his chubby little cheeks. Most importantly his hair is growing back beautifully!
Nolan continues to work hard on his challenges and is very eager to walk on his own. I also have a challenge to overcome this week... That is leaving my son after spending the past 9 months by his side to re enter the workforce. Its only two days a week but its something that will take a lot of getting used to.
Cancer has changed us. As it has everyone who is touched by it. But we press on with a little faith and friends by our side.

On a side note... As Noli's God mother and fundraiser "go to" person I have been touched by so very people many forever changed by cancer. So many of you are still in the battle. Many of you have loved ones that lost their battle. One of these people was a young woman named Jillana Novich. She reached out to me when Noli was first diagnosed and became a great friend. Jillana was an amazing person. She had a tumor in her brain that couldn't be removed. She was not married (though dating a nice young man) no children (although she taught school for a living.) She reached out to me when she found out about Nolan's cancer, we would IM daily, e-mail daily... she was a sweet, strong soul and will be missed terribly. Her battle with cancer ended last night, Jillana was only in her 30's. She was surrounded by her family and passed away with out any pain. I will be forever grateful for her kind words and amazing strength. Rest in peace Jillana, you are finally free .....you will live on in our hearts forever.
Jodie
